I have included some price ranges on this page, I know when I am shopping a ball park figure is helpful to me.  If you see something you like, but have a different target amount in mind, please let me know.  Often a different wood or size can make that happen.  We can even work with some volume discounts on certain items.

These come in a variety of sizes and wood, however most will use hard maple for the majority of the cutting surface.  Hard maple wood fibers are very tight and offer the best protection against bacteria.

The end-grain boards provide a better surface for your knives.  If you can picture a paint brush with the bristles facing up, the knife will cut into the fibers of the wood without the dulling effect.  This process is more tedious and therefore they cost more. 

The long-grain boards are still very useful and offer that same variety, however if you take that same paint brush and lay it down flat, you can visualize the knife cutting across the fibers of the board which will dull your knives more quickly.  These boards are easier to make and therefore cost less. 

In my opinion, the end-grain boards are worth the cost for the cutting board that is used on a regular basis.  That being said, the pattern of the end-grain does give a unique look and should be taken into consideration when making your choice.
